Art from my coffee

Hi everyone. I just came back from my parent's beach house where I went with my kids and my husband. It was a great opportunity for me to draw and I returned in Thessaloniki,with a lot of inspiration and full of images in my head. Today, I was having my morning coffe in my balcony and I spilled some on the saucer plate when the stain created a little creature. I made a quick sketch and I added two eyes, a nose and a mouth and I came up with that. Isn't it cute? Well, i suppose that Art is everywhere, in everything around us and with a little imagination, a pencil and a good mood we can do miracles.

Yesterday, when everybody went to sleep, (finally..), i decided to illustrate this for the summer. I really enjoy painting and illustrating, even though i'm self taught and i do not know much about illustration and programs. However, i did this illustration exactly as i had it in mind and it looks pretty good, don't you think?

My new aquarelle books just arrived. I've been trying some of them to check the colors and the paper. I'm pretty much satisfied by them. I draw a flower sketch and i painted it with colored pencils.

I am making up stories to put my little girl in bed early, when i realised yesterday that i keep telling stories about this little elephant and his adventures. So, i decided to make an illustration every time i tell a story about him. This is the first illustration about El, the little blue elephant.

This weekend we went to my parents beach house. The weather was great and we spent most of the time in the garden where my father has lots of flowers and especially roses, all kinds of colors.
